Make It Easy to Buy: The Mother’s Day Opportunity Most Clinics Miss
Here’s the thing about Mother’s Day… it’s one of the biggest retail opportunities in clinic… but only if you make it easy for people to buy.
For me, it comes down to three things: gift cards, bundles… and GWPs. And more importantly, how you bring them together.
Gift cards are often treated as a last-minute fallback. But when you reframe them as a Skin Ritual or a considered experience, they become far more intentional. You’re no longer selling a dollar value, you’re selling an outcome. A moment. Something that feels thought through.
Where it really shifts, though, is when you take away the biggest friction point:
“she has nothing to open.”
This is where your duos and bundles do the heavy lifting.
Pairing a gift card with a curated bundle instantly elevates the entire purchase. It makes it feel tangible, complete, and premium. It also naturally increases spend…without needing to discount your core offering.
And this is where GWPs come in quietly, but powerfully.
A well-placed gift-with-purchase is the easiest way to upgrade the moment. It gives you a reason to increase spend (“spend $200, receive…”) and adds that extra layer of perceived value, without touching your pricing.
When someone is already buying a gift card, adding a GWP makes the whole thing feel more generous, more considered, and more giftable.
The most effective clinics right now are doing this seamlessly.
They’re merchandising bundles right next to gift cards.
They’re using GWPs to nudge spend and elevate the offer.
They’re training their front desk to say, “most people pair this with one of our duos so she has something to open on the day.”
They’re pre-wrapping everything so it’s grab-and-go.
It’s simple. But it works.
And then there’s the last 48 hours…where a huge portion of your revenue will come from.
If you’ve positioned your gift cards well, and supported them with strong bundle options, this is where you capture the “I forgot” shopper without losing the opportunity to retail.
Mother’s Day doesn’t need to be complicated.
Make it easy. Make it feel considered.
And use what you already have… just packaged in a smarter way.
